The head of Crypto at VISA, Cuy Sheffield revealed that the payment giant is working towards supporting the cryptocurrencies for the payments across its 80 M merchants worldwide. The VISA is working with various crypto platforms to develop crypto cards that can convert the crypto to fiat currencies in the background while users pay at the merchant site in real time without a glitch. This will strengthen the crypto payment system and the users will not require converting their crypto to fiat first and then pay. About 60 crypto platforms have been already partnered to provide this service by VISA.

Cuy Sheffield said that “Crypto-linked cards make it easy for consumers to convert and spend digital currencies, without requiring coffee shops, dry cleaners, or grocery stores to directly accept crypto at the checkout”. He also claimed that they are tirelessly gaining momentum in this field and the company will continue to support the crypto space in several ways. The company has dramatically increased its workforce from handful employees to a number in hundreds and is the very reason for the rapid growth of crypto services at VISA.
