Grayscale Announces New Addition to its Portfolio: The Solana Trust
“A new single crypto asset trust named Solana Trust has been announced by the Grayscale Investments taking their crypto investment trust portfolio to reach 16 and their total crypto asset under management (AUM) to $53.5 Billion. The Solana trust will solely invest in the Solana cryptocurrency which has seen a staggering ROI of 10,000% in a single year.”
The world’s largest cryptocurrency asset manager, Grayscale Investments announced a new single asset investment trust that will solely invest in Solana, the cryptocurrency that soared to provide 10,000% returns on investment in the year 2021 alone. The trust is ready to accept the investments.
Grayscale Investments have a huge portfolio of single asset investment and diversified investment trusts. The single asset investment trusts solely invests in a single crypto asset whereas the diversified asset trust invests in multiple crypto assets. Before the inclusion of the Solana Trust, Grayscale had 15 crypto asset trusts (13 single asset trusts and 2 diversified asset trusts) in its portfolio. With the inclusion of the Solana Trust the number has risen to 16.
In its announcement, Grayscale Investments said “The trust is now open for daily subscription by eligible individual and institutional accredited investors. The trust functions the same as Grayscale’s other single-asset investment trusts.” The minimum amount of investment that can be made in the trust is $25,000 and the trust charges an annual management fee of 2.5%.
With the inclusion of the Solana Trust, Grayscale reported its AUM (Total Asset Under Management) to be $53.5 Billion with its maximum AUM in the Bitcoin Trust at $37.2 Billion. The company reports that these trusts are being created to provide the crypto investors with an option for diversification and in limiting the volatility of the crypto market.
